Heat Advisory - Cooling Options
With the excessive heat warning being issued by the National Weather Service and the forecast for temperatures reaching as high as 110 degrees in the afternoon the Bell County Office of Emergency Management and the Bell County Sheriff’s Department in conjunction with The Bell County Medical Reservists will be opening a Cooling Center at the Bell County Sheriff’s Office at 104 S. Main in Belton at 1:00 PM today .
The center will be a cool, air conditioned place the elderly or those with heat sensitive health issues can go if they do not have air conditioning at home. The center will be staffed by the BCHD Medical Reservist and the Bell County Sheriff’s Department staff. Bottled water will be available for those who use the center.
The hours of operation will be from 9 AM to 8 PM daily until excessive heat warning is lifted.
